Snape with the potion at work had no choose but, to allow the spell to hit for to move to defended would have been useless since Jamie could counter it or order him other wise. He was sent to his knees & a light sound comes form his lips that were likely the sound of pain. Though he could only wait for Jamie to stop the spell, threw being tired or thinking she proved her point.

"Dont ever speak to me like that. Do you understand now, Snape? I'm ten times more powerful than you could ever be, and I have control over you. You might as well quit fighting, unless you like this pain... Well, do you?!" Jamie growled at him, increasing the spell.

Snape did not miss Jamie’s words, though she was not more powerful he would challenge her there she did have control over him & he knew it, even if he did not like it. He felt her increases the pain of the spell, though he was able for the moment to keep from screaming he could only speak simple “No” Even with it there was no saying Jamie would stop her torment or spell on him.

Jamie released Snape from the spell. "Be grateful you're still alive. Leave me," she spat, the fury in her eyes still lingering, her blue eyes ice cold.

Snape felt Jamie release him form her spell, he did not miss her words or the tone she used. He was not a fool to stay & even more so he had no choose but, to do as she asked with the potion that was running threw his blood. He took his wand before he disapeared as Jamie asked back to his home where he might find rested for a bit of time any way.
