It was a cold day in the wearing world; it had snowed some the day before that only made if feels colder to those that where out in it. Snape showed no sign that the cold bothered him but, then again he felt it, it was just he learned to deal with it & not show it so openly with those around.
His breath fogged up like a cloud & his cloak hood was low hiding his face but, also holding in heat to keep him warm. The other nice thing was he had been wise enough to add a charm to his cloak to keep him warm on such a day as to day.
Snape was in Hogsmeade his steeps where soft but, then again he had learned over years of practice it was second nature to him, after all it was harder to do something to some one if you did not see them or hear them approach. He had come here to see what whispers & rumors where going around, could be something interesting after all one never knew what they might hear here, if there was some idea going on about something in the Wizard World or some one here is where you could hear about it.
Snape turned up a street before he moved to enter the inn, by the name of the Three Broomsticks it was a well know inn & it would allow him to hear the most rumors & news ones & news as well with out it being clear that he was doing just that.
Entering the inn, he saw that there where people around but, not an extreme amount something he could deal with for a little bit of time. Snape moved to take a table that was more in shadow then anything but, where he the heat of the fire in the inn would still reach him, he watch closely to those that where around, as well those that came & went. He ordered a drink but, asked for the full bottle & it not to be opened he could not say he trusted people, not to try to drug or poison him.

Riley had just gotten back from visiting her family, her cloak wrapped tightly around her with her scarf covering half of her face. Her boots were covered in a faint dust of snow, and inside the folds of her clothes she was warm. After having walked for five miles to Hogsmeade to pick up a package for her mother she decided to stop at the inn which would offer her a warm place to go and people watch.
Riley walked into the inn, glancing around quickly to see the people gathered there. She didn't notice Snape at first as she walked towards a small corner where she wouldn't be noticed but close enough to the fireplace. She slid off her gloves and scarf, and turned around, then noticing Snape sitting all alone.
She walked up to him a determined look on her face. "Mind if I join you?"

Snape watched those that came & went still, when his drink came, he cheeked to see it was not messed with before allowing him self to look back to the door. He also did well to listen to bits of topics that where being spoken about, none gave him much heed & he wondered if they knew it was him. There was nothing so far of intrested & he supposed that was good, in its own way.
The door opened & he saw some one enter, with quite a bit of snow on them in places, he soon learned it was Riley & he took note that she did not notice him, he was not going to say any thing but, when she saw him & asked him her question.
Had it been another day perhaps warmer he would of told her no, though at the moment he would allow her to seat with him if noting else for the time being. "You may"

"Thank you." Riley said warmly as she sat down next to him.
"I would ask you how you are doing or if you enjoy the weather, but you aren't one for such exchanges. Yet you are at a place like this were gossip is certainly to be had though you detest it." Riley stated as she placed her scarf and gloves on the table.

“For once I can say, the weather is like me. I am not into gossip & speaking it how ever, it is one way to learn of events going on in the Wizarding world that the papers have not spoken of or the Ministry or those have not spoken of. Such as one could learn that there is gossip about them self going around, something at times good to know, since most the time where there is you will have to answer for it in some way. I also learn by listening, how the wizarding world is fairing with the dangers it faces & how safe the people feel” In the end if the people felt safe then they where not likely to panic of freak. It there where edge they where likely to freak & that could turn bad quickly”

"Now you relate yourself to the weather. Do you wish to elaborate on your comparison?" Riley smiled waiting patiently for his answer.
"You really do take these things quite seriously. Has it ever crossed your mind that people are aware of eavesdroppers so they make guarded their speech or tell lies?"

Snape heard her words “Yes, it is cold. Something I have been told I am very often” Snape looked at her before he spoke “It has crossed my mind & I am very a wear that, many know the chance for eavesdropping is likely. Not many I believe or even cheek but, when it speaks of killing one has little choose then to take heed to it, even if it is a lie or false”

"So you liken yourself to what others think of you." Riley stated. She personally thought the cold was wonderfull, it filled her lungs and made her feel more alive when she walking everywhere. The snow always reminded her of tiny drops of stars falling from the sky.
"I just remember you stating ever so clearly that you did not like to partake in such events in the wizarding world, yet here you are in the middle of them." Riley smiled sweetly, testing to see if he would take the bait.

“I suppose in this moment I would” He glanced at her a moment before he spoke on her words “I do not partake of them, for to partake in them one has to continue the rumor going. And I do well to cheek to insure if these so called rumors are true or not before speaking them if there is any threat or not”
After all it had been what had keep some side D.E. threats form happening or being as grand as some members had decide, there was also some people that where not D.E. that had been stopped in the same way.

"I see." Riley smiled.
"So if I wish to know some rumors to be true or not about your character how would I establish falsehood if you won't reveal yourself and remain a mystery?" Riley smirked at Snape, wondering what he would say next.

Snape smirked with her question "Find some one that can answer the quetion well, though there are many ways to go about it, though when it comes to all most all rumors about me most have some truth to them, if thay will save you some time" He douted it would but, he would say it any how.

"Who better to answer questions than yourself. You do profess to have a superior mind, so I am sure you can put yourself into words quite nicely, or do words fail you on this one account?"
Riley shifted in her chair leaning in towards Snape, "I have learned myself that most rumors are false and are usually exaggerated musings. There are many men my mother has brought foward to me proclaiming that they are of the most gentemly accord, but heavens were they nothing but! One must sift through the lies to unravel the truth, and I take no one elses word except that very person."

Snaoe watched Riley a moment before he spoke "Words hardly fail me it is more, if I choose to speak them. Such as deppending on the question, I might give you an answer or I might not"
"I would think your father would have a few words, to exhange with this men, that prove to be ungentemly to you" At least if it was him in there place there would be, he might not show it but, he dispised such men.

"Then you could choose either way to answer or not, so you could also choose to tell or not. Then it is decided instead of playing a guessing game, if you wish to be known of something then you alone must bring it forward."
Riley laughed, "If only you knew my dear, poor, old father! I love him dearly but speech fails him. He is one to spend time with plants and animals then conversing with others."
Riley looked at Snape, "And why do you suggest that he should take care of these unseemingly men? I handle myself quite well rejecting them. Though my father does comfort my mother wonderfuly when I do turn down a proposal. How the cycle never ends, yet I do pray it does soon!"

Snape said nothing with her first words since she was mearly agreeing with him, though he listened on as she spoke with her question to himhe spoke "I asummed he would feel he need to, not so muh you could not do it your self. You wish it to end for your mothes sake or more you hope that soon you will find a man that is a gentalman"
