Perched with her legs crossed on one of the stone walls around the courtyard, Cally looked out across the Hogwarts grounds. Pulling her coat tighter around her small body, Cally sighed softly, her breath turning into crystals and drifting upward in the cold winter wind. It was snowing lightly, and normally Cally would be safe inside the castle where it was warm, but for whatever reason, classes didn't seem like a good idea today. Brushing her dark hair out of her eyes, Cally jumped as she heard the sound of approaching footsteps. She hadn't expected anyone else to be outside the castle, not when all the students were supposed to be in class.

Snape made his way over the grounds, the students he found had been quick to take off back for the castle he had hopped that all the studets where in but, he had to make sure. That is tell he saw the student & form the robes he could say it was a ravenclaw, well figuers those of his house would ot still be out.
"Dare I ask what you are doing out still Miss. Fraser?" His voice did hold its normal coldness to it as was a trade mark of his & he silently waited for the answer to the question. He raised an eyebrow as he waited.

Looking up, Cally gave a small smile straightening up a bit so it didn't appear as though she was hiding in her robes. Out of all the teachers to find her skipping school, Snape wasn't the first on her list of best options, but the young Ravenclaw girl was decent at potions, and she'd made it a point to try not to get on Snape's bad side - if there was such a thing. So far she'd been lucky, and Cally figured she had a good chance of getting detention for skipping, but oh well.
"I've been finding the class rooms claustrophobic lately professor," Cally answered honestly with a small shrug of her shoulders. "I can't seem to concentrate, so I figured I would gain more from being outside today, then stuck inside in a musty old classroom..." She trailed off with a shy smile. "I hope that's okay," she added as sweetly as possible

Snape did not miss her words though they held no swaying power over him, he was hard on students when it came to such things as skipping class & many other things. One reason he was hated by many of the students past & present.
He folded his arms over his chest "Did you really think me to say it was fine? Hardly, perhaps a day of detection will my more to your liking & give you reason not to think, it so wise to skip classes. I am sure that I will find things to keep you focused" Snape smirked at this as he lowered his arms as he went on "You will serve detection, after dinner though do not press your lucky to think you will get out of it by stalling"

Cally smiled calmly up at professor Snape. After the childhood she'd had with abusive parents, she was hardly intimidated by him. Jumping down off the edge of the stone wall, Cally turned to look at her professor. She was short enough to have to look up to look him in the eye, but Cally had never let her height get in her way before when she tried to get her way.
"But professor," she reasoned. "I had detention last night, and two nights before that. Really, it would make more sense to have detention now seeing as I'm not in class right now anyways, and clearly allowing me to walk away doesn't lead me to 'think about' my actions." She smiled. Cally didn't want to spend another night in detention, she hadn't heard from Deran in a while, and she was hoping tonight she would be able to get in touch with him, but the whole detention at night would really limit her options of sneaking out of the castle after dark. "I mean it's not like either of us is doing anything at the moment," she added. Cally was never one to be afraid of punishment, her years of torture and torment had been when she was younger, she could deal with anything thrown at her, she'd just rather get it over with instead of waiting.

Snape watched her with her words he was quick to speak "Ands whose fault is it that you had detention all those nights?" Snape smirked "Ow but, it could very well make you think on what you have done, after all to do it now mealy means you get it over & done with, to make you wait insures that any plains you have, will be second on the list & from what I have seen that could be quite a blow" He looked at her "As for nether doing something, I am & if you where smart you would do something such as return to the castle before I think more on what to hand out for punishment to you"

"It surely isn't my fault professor," Cally said innocently, all too aware that she wasn't going to get her way. "I've been framed on multiple occasions - I mean in the last five detentions, only three of them were really MY fault." Cally crossed her arms and looked up at her professor. "Very well tonight then," she said with a shrug as if it didn't matter to her one way or the other. "But you and I both know that if you send me away, I'm not going to go to class." Cally smiled her usual friendly smile. "I mean honestly professor, I'm already in trouble so why waste a perfectly good day by actually going to class now." She paused. "But if you insist, I will carry on my way and go find somewhere else to sit and think about what wrong I have caused," Cally smiled deviously.

"Unless you have a twin running around here it is & since I am not the one to give you your last detentions, you had more luck with them then me to get out of it" Snape smirked "And if you go off on your way & not back to Hogwarts what do you think the chances are another Professor will not find you only to deal out more punishment besides. I could make you go back, though you will find doing so only makes you more on my bad side"

Cally stood smiling up at her professor. "Could you imagine if I did have a twin," she asked totally off topic looking to change the subject. "The thought of there being two of me running around is rather entertaining wouldn't you say professor?" Cally stretched her arms out behind her and turned so she was looking out across the grounds of Hogwarts.
"Don't you ever just want to get away from the school," Cally asked ignoring what he said about another professor finding her. "I think there is so much more beyond these walls, but I've never had a chance to explore any of it." Cally paused. "I don't even know why we fight these silly wars, they're so pointless in the bigger picture" She said softly her words muffled in the wind.

Snape heard her words "Hardly, it would only mean another student to get into trouble" He had been around enough twins to know, how it worked & that it in the end was only another student to care for & see they did not get hurt. "And what do you think time in the wizarding world is when you go with the other students & besides you will be able to do as you want once you leave these so called walls once you pass graduated" Snape had not missed her last words "I suppose depending on where you stand in this war, there are many reasons it is fought form fighting for what one believes, to wanting to make the world a better place or wanting to gain something out of it & so on & so fourth"

Cally gave a small smile at Snape's response to her having a twin. "Going to Hogsmeade isn't nearly the same as traveling," Cally said simply. "The biggest adventure I've ever had was getting lost in Diagon Alley.. and well lets just say I'll never do that again." Cally frowned at the memory, she had been beat until she could barely breath past her own blood trying to suffocate her, and she hadn't been allowed to eat for a week after that. She'd had to bargain with the house elves to bring her scraps from dinner.
"It doesn't make sense though Professor, and I don't mean to be rude." Cally paused. "But why would people want to fight when the world could be so perfect. I mean to me it seems like it works the way it is." She shrugged. "Why would anyone want absolute power anyways, that just seems like a lot of responsibility to me." Biting her bottom lip, Cally turned to face her professor once again.

"Perhaps not but, it does get you out of the castle with out you thinking it will lead to trouble or in your case not so likely any way" With her last words he knew there was not true answer he could give, for to fight was just something the world had been at since almost the start.
"I am sure many things makes people want to fight, you have those that think them self's better then others & feel they must show it, this leads to many wanting power or are promised something or they think they can get what ever it is they are looking for. As for power there are some that just cannot appear to get enough & perhaps it makes them feel stronger with having it because to have it means they rule over some one" Snape looked at Cally "Besides fight has been going on for a long time, it is not just something we can just turn off"

"I've never gotten into trouble on a hogsmeade trip professor Snape, I'm always on my best behavior," she smiled, but it was true, she had never gotten in trouble for the school planned trips to the village, it was more when she decided to go exploring on her own that caused issues.
Biting her bottom lip Cally listened intently. She didn't understand the war, well that wasn't true, on a basic level she did, the whole good must conquer evil thing, but on a more phillisophical level she didn't understand it. Like why someone would start a war in the first place. "I guess I'll never understand," she said with a small shrug of her shoulders.
"Sooo about that detention professor," Are you sure you really want to ruin your otherwise perfectly good night by spending it with me?" Cally smiled innocently up at him.

Snape heard her words "Of course, you just wait tell your here" Snape looked more at Cally "Perhaps with time you will understand more on the war if you are lucky they you will not" Though with her last words he appeared to scuff at the idea "You are free to leave as you choose, after all it was what you where going to do & then see how long you can stay out before another Professor or Staff finds you" In the end the idea of speaking with her had not been on his mine but, with her words before hand he though it only fair to answer them or speak his mind on the matter.

Cally blinked confused. This was the most she'd ever talked to Snape and although she was trying to follow everything he was saying about the war, she was finding it harder and harder to understand him and war on a whole.
"So, does that mean I don't have detention tonight?" Cally questioned, her eyes darting with mischief. Snape hadn't really answered her one way or the other, so she was still hopeful.
