Cally walked slowly down the long winding roads of hogsmeade village. She was dressed in a pair of medium wash skinny jeans than clung to her body just right, and a dark blue hooded sweater over a white tank top. Her long dark hair was down, with her curls blowing across her face as a strong wind started to pick up. It had been raining on and off all day, but as the clouds started to spin and boil above her head, Cally could tell that a storm was coming. Taking a deep breath, Cally searched with her senses, experimenting with her new found skills and talents to try and sense any danger.
It was just after dark, but still earlier enough in the evening to be out and about, However luckily for Cally there were only a few mortals wandering the streets. It was still hard, being able to hear the heart beats of others, and knowing that their blood flowing through their viens would make her strong, to be around people, but Cally was forcing herself to adapt. She had sworn she would never kill anyone now that she was a vampire, but that didn't make the cravings any less easy to manage.
Feeling that someone was headed her way, Cally tried to look normal, tried not to act any way other than that of a mortal wandering the streets, but it was hard. She hoped the man approaching wouldn't try to talk to her, not that he would, at least that was what Cally lead herself to believe. Pushing her hands into her pocket, Cally wasn't aware as the ring she had shoved in her pocket earlier fell to the ground behind her, although it would be devastating to lose it.

Sky had noticed the clouds darkening above and he felt a chill run through him, welcoming the coming storm. He was glad he didn't wear a jacket or a robe like he usually did, knowing how refreshing it would be if it rained while he was outside. He wore dark pants, with his darker shoes, the really only pair he owned. His shirt was a was an earthy green and his eagle feather and divination beads were hanging off of his side belt loop, already possessing a spell to keep them from falling off or getting destroyed.
Sky fingered these beads, lost in thought as he passed by a figure in hooded sweatshirt, not paying any close attention to their face, but how they shoved thier hands into their pockets nervously. As he wondered what was wrong he saw a ring fall almost in slow motion onto the ground. The figure continued to walk on and Sky quickly bent down and picked up the ring. He sensed something strange about it, and felt the need to not touch it, but he hid this feeling as he called out to the girl.
"Excuse me, I believe you dropped this!" Sky held up the ring, so that it was barely touching his skin.

Cally flinched visibly as the man spoke to her. Turning to see what it was she could have dropped, Cally felt her heart sink at the sight of her engagement ring. Or what had once been her engagement ring. She hadn't seen the lover who had given her that ring in years, and had stopped wearing it on her finger a year ago, wearing it on a necklace instead to keep it close. Today had been the first day Cally had wanted to leave the ring at home, to forget about it and never look back to move on with her life. She been almost out of the door when she realized she couldn't leave without it, and had shoved the ring into her jean pocket out of frustration.
"Um thank you," Cally said softly, her voice melodious, but she hadn't spoken to anyone other than Rigoletto in a long time, so it wasn't normal for her to hear her own voice. Walking closer to the man holding her ring, Cally reached out her hand hesitantly, gently taking the ring, careful not to brush her skin against his. The difference would have been shocking, her cold skin again his probably would have frightened anyone. Looking at the ring, Cally sighed and put it back in her pocket refusing to wear the ring, afraid it would bring back to many emotions. Being a vampire, she could distance herself from her emotions, but being new, she was still finding it hard to close the door on her life before.
Shifting nervously, Cally looked fromt eh man in front of her and to the man behind. Her eyes resting on the pulse point in his neck and then flicking away. She refused to give into the predator of her nature.
Without realizing it, Cally started to wring her hands together nervously, she felt vulnerable, and she really didn't want to hurt this guy, but she was starting at his pulse, and Cally could feel her teeth lengthening in her mouth, although she fought to control her urges. She had fed well earlier, but she was having a hard time controlling herself. Something about being a new vampire.. apparently it was supposed to get easier, but right then and there, Cally couldn't see how things would ever be better.

At first Sky dismissed the flinch from the girl but as she spoke to him and then continued to look at him nervously he knew that something was wrong. Either way he knew it would be best to be cautious around her, but his need to help her outweighed what he believed to be any threat to him.
"Are you ok? I mean not to prod into your private life but from what I gather that ring holds some kind of negative energy." Sky looked at the girl, unsure as to how she would respond. He of course didn't mention to her that the ring possesed a lot of negative energy overmasked by probably heartbreak. Though of course he could see plainly it was an engagement ring, and the fact that she didn't wear it anymore meant that something had happened.
"Of course if you don't want to talk about it or anything for that matter I understand. Though it relieves the soul to talk outloud about things." Sky smiled calmly at the girl, a look of pure concern on his face. He moved slightly to continue using his beads, to see if he could pick up anything about the negative energy from the ring, and just exactly what was making this girl appear like she was at war with herself.

Cally closed her eyes briefly, trying to calm her senses. Everything was overwhelming, and this guy seemed to be really nice. It would be really wrong to kill a really nice guy with his whole life a head of him, just because she couldn't get herself under control. The ring was stupid, she shouldn't still have it anyway, Deran had been gone for years again, and who knew if or when he was coming back. He certainly hadn't tried to write or get in contact with her, and if vampires were truly immortal like everyone kept telling her, someone probably ripped his heart out of his chest for all she knew.
Cally shrugged as the man said that the ring held negative energy. "It's not the ring," she said softly. "I'm negative energy, it follows me..." Cally trailed off her eyes raising to meet his. She could kill him, it would shut him up and it would make her life a lot easier, but she had promised herself that she would never take anothers life. She wouldn't be like her parents and be monsters. Granted her parents had been mortal, but they had been abusive, and had nearly killed her numerous times.
"It's not safe for you to be here," Cally tried to explain, knowing she couldn't really just tell the man that she was what was dangerous. It was all she could do to keep her teeth hidden, his blood calling to her like nothing else. She was fixated on his pulse and she couldn't seem to look away. "You're really nice and all..." Cally trailed off looking around herself nervously. She wanted to run, needed to get away, but she couldn't she was trapped because she did want someone to talk to, did need someone to understand her. Cally sighed pulling her hood up to hide her expression as she looked away from the man standing before her, trying to take deep breaths, counting to 10 i her head before breathing again trying to calm herself.

Sky smiled at the girl, dismissing her warning. "I am prepared to lose my life at any moment, and I believe listening to you at this moment is greater than a sudden journey to the otherside."
Sky shifted the beads, and grazed the feather, he knew it wasn't his time yet to die, and he knew that he needed to talk to this girl.
"As for the negative energy you believe you are, you are somewhat correct. Each being posses a certain amount of negative energy which is interexchanged with the rest of the universe. Though I don't believe you are negative energy, you posses a spirit do you not? So you are made up of positive energy or light as some like to call it as well." Sky reached into his pocket and pulled out a small black stone which was smooth as silk. The stone had been used before by him as an object to calm, and he hoped that some of this calming energy would be useful to the girl.
He held the stone out to the girl, "you can use this stone to transfer this negative energy or anything else you are struggling with, or rather any impluses you have that you believe make you dangerous to others." Sky waited to see if the girl would take the stone.
In the silence he smiled, looking straight into the girls eyes, "I'm Sky by the way."

Cally took another deep calming breath. She could do this, she had to. She had to control her nature now, and she had lifetimes to perfect it, but there was no time like the present to start being a better person. Chewing on her bottom lip out of nervous habit, Cally listened quietly as the man spoke. She couldn't judge how old her was, but then again she hadn't been spending much time with mortals anymore... it was safer that way.
Listening to his words, Cally couldn't help but feel a bit better, but as he started talking about spirits, Cally took a step away. Normal people had spirit, she didn't. As sky held the black stones out to her, Cally stepped further away. "I'm sorry," she said softly shaking her head.
"Look Sky, you're a nice guy," Cally tried again trying to hide behind the hood of her sweater. "I don't have a spirit." She took a deep breath, the space between them was helping and her teeth were residing. "There is no positive energy or light in me. None, not anymore." Cally shrugged as if it didn't matter. "You're pretty black rocks won't help me..." Cally hung her head and sighed.

Sky laughed, "as you wish. But, it appears from the way you didn't introduce yourself you haven't been around people, or rather what is called humans in a long time, if you believe you have no soul. Judging from the other possiblities of what you appear to be, I can only conclude that you are a demon or a vampire, but that is who you are on the outside, not in the inside."
Sky smiled, he now turned the rock in his hands. "Everything has a spirit. Your body, is only a container to hold that spirit. No matter how much the body changes to the extent of how fast it heals, what it needs for food, how long it lives or does or doesn't age is all part of that container. However, the spirit is flexible and can fit into any container, so no matter how much you want to deny it, you still have a spirit."
Sky again held out the rock, "take for instance this rock, it posses a spirit of it's own. It doesn't speak but the energy from the rock is still there, thus it has a spirit. Everything that is in the cycle of energy posses a spirit."
"Now, you musn't be afraid you will hurt me. I will not pass on today, and you may laugh at me, but from being a seer and a healer among other things, I know that I will not pass on, or as most like to call it die, from you."

Cally nearly jumped out of her skin as Sky assumed she was a vampire or demon. Was she really that readable, could she not control herself more than that? She was supposed to keep the fact she was a vampire a secret, people didn't like vampires. "I- I"m sorry," Cally stammered. "I don't talk to many people, my manners are horrible..." She paused taking a deep breath, if Sky knew her name, he would know part of her, and then who knows, he would probably want to know more about her and to help her, when Cally knew she couldn't be helped. "My name is Caleigh," she said her Scottish accent playing on her name, giving away part of her background. She'd all but managed to drop her accent after running away from Hogwarts, when she'd tried to change who she was, but there were still some words that she pronounced in broad Scots.
"How can you be so sure you will not die this night, when I'm not even sure I can control myself," Caleigh asked, suddenly deciding that if she couldn't get sky to leave for his own safety, maybe trying to scare him would make sure he didn't get close enough to her to get caught. Feeling her teeth lengthen again, Cally flashed her canines at him, letting her eyes show the danger that she held packed neatly in her small body. "I can be very dangerous and very unpredictable.... "

"Nice to meet you Caleigh. And your manners are better than most, you just forgot because your fighting with yourself right now on what to do about me." Sky smiled warmly at her and showed no signs of anxiety when she showed her teeth to him.
Sky tucked the stone back into his pocket. When she asked about how sure he could be about not dying tonight he laughed. "Let's just say that being a seer as powerful as I am allows me certain advantages and connections with the other side. I was looking for you for some time now. Helping you is just one of the many things I do to keep the balance between the other side and this world. I'm guessing this is your first test in trusting yourself?"

Caleigh huffed a sigh as Sky refused to back down or be afraid of her when she showed her teeth. "Don't you have any sense of self preservation?" Caleigh demanded crossing her arms in frustration. She wanted to strangle Sky for being so stupid. She was dangerous, she could kill him at any point. Why would he want to be anywhere around her?
"I haven't been around anyone in a long time," Cally admitted slowly, raising her eyes to meet Sky's. "And I don't trust myself, so you shouldn't either." Cally looked at him challengingly, daring him to find something good about her. There wasn't, and she knew that, but he could try if he wanted too.
