Aldar had started to notice that he never was out of the Ministry, or at least taking a break. Being cooped up had started to make his awkward nature even more prominent and he decided it would be best for everyone if he stepped outside for some fresh air, or at least new scenery. He wore a simple, slightly ragged black cloak and a worn pair of boots seeing how the air was getting chillier. His hair stuck out in odd places and he absentmindedly played with a tiny marble he had found on the street.
It was peaceful now, but based on his past and the past of the world, Aldar felt on edge. There was always a balance in things and he knew underneath all the fluttering butterflies and roses were thorns and insect diagrams.
Aldar stopped to look into the shops but never entered. He didn't need anything, after all, everything he owned was specially made by himself. Lost in thought Aldar continued to wander around.

(( www.polyvore.com/01/set?id=25243380 )) Jamie walked down the alley, glancing into different windows as she moved towards Gringotts. She swept past several people, a small smirk seemingly plastered on her face. She had successfully gained the Erin girl as an apprentice, the first small step towards the next part of her plan, a plan that was part of her large and in-progress- idea. She brushed passed several wizards, not realizing that one was Aldar, so wrapped up in her world was she. Jamie chuckled as she continued to think about her plans, slowly shifting to how she would bring Erin over to the Death Eaters...

Aldar could see Jamie coming from a mile away. Perhaps it was because of their mutual dislike for the other. He laughed as she walked past, it was a rare sight to see her off in her own little world. After all, she was known for her alertness and deadly bite. Aldar quickly stepped on her cloak. "I heard you've taken an apprentice."
He waited patiently for her response.

Jamie felt the cloak catch on her throat, and spun around, yanked from her thoughts, a snarl on her face and her wand out. Her eyes were narrowed and flashing as she met Aldar's. She seemed to pause for a moment before straightening up, tugging her cloak out from under the Minister's foot. "Really, Minister, you may want to watch your step," she said coolly, putting her wand away. She brushed herself down, as though smoothing down hackles, and tucked away a stray strand of hair before continuing.
"Yes, I did. She needed a mentor, and I need aurors. The shoes fit, and so now it is her pair to wear. Why, what's it to you?" Jamie asked, raising an eyebrow as she studied the Minister...

Aldar smiled not commenting that he knew very well where he had stepped. "I will be careful next time not to step down specifically on your cloak."
Aldar was careful not to give anything away to Jamie. After all, their unspoken dislike of each other always made everything seem like losing or winning in an endless game of besting the other. "Yes, the shoe fits. But, are they a match? You seem to forget or have decided to overstep and dismiss the protocal for apprenticeship."
Aldar paused before continuing, "being at the position you are I am sure she is very excited to study under you. However, it is important that aurors are placed where they will grow the most. A plant that isn't grown by the right gardner will die regardless of how skilled the gardner is in other areas. We don't want to place someone with the wrong gardner now do we?" Aldar smiled sweetly as if being the very picture of a rose itself, thorns and all.

Jamie rolled her eyes, shaking her head. "Really, Silverton? I am head Auror. I am in charge of my department, and I can assign and rearrange apprentices and mentors as I see fit. If there is no gardener at all for a garden, it becomes tangled, wild, and overgrown. Better to have any gardener than no garden. There was no other mentor available for the girl. Besides," Jamie sniffed, looking haughty, "I happen to think that we will be just fine together. I have the knowledge, and she has the hunger," Jamie said coolly, glaring calmly at Aldar.
"Besides, you can't mentor her for what she wants to be, what she wants to do. So I'll kindly ask you to keep your nose out of my business," Jamie smirked...

Aldar laughed, "yes, I know you're at the top of the aurors. Don't get me wrong you have the skill to match. But, I also have had people come to me saying that they always feel the need to say yes to you. A need which I question. Your presence is very strong and I could see many people not being able to speak their minds. But, next time let me know first. And I will be speaking to the girl to make sure she understands everything. Who you study under shapes who you are and your life direction, it is an important descion."
Aldar paused before continuining studying Jamie as he did so. "If you would like to say anything about my position or abilities feel free to do so. Please enlighten me on what exactly I couldn't give the girl that you could."

Jamie's lip curled as ALdar continued to speak, a mocking smirk forming on her face. "Really? Speak to the girl if you like. I'm quite sure she will admit herself that she was quite agreeable, if not eager, to finally study under a proper mentor and teacher. As for your concerns about the others, tell them to grow a backbone. If my presence alone persuades them, perhaps they should get used to it, because I'm not going anywhere," she snapped.
Jamie eyed Aldar again, looking him up and down. "I can offer her sanity, not your ramblings," she said, smirking as she took him in completely.

Aldar noticed Jamie's expression and was pleased. He always enjoyed seeing her smirk, it was a sign that she thought she was winning. "I made no mention of what I would be talking to her about. And yes, most need to grow a backbone as you like to say. Though, no one can really say how long they will be around for. Anything could happen."
Aldar grinned at Jamie, "I only ramble for you because you appreaciate it so much."

Jamie's smirk grew wider. "Well, talk to her in any case, if you wish, if you desperately feel the need to speak with her," she said coolly, shrugging. "Yes, I suppose no one can truly say that," she said, smirking and staring pointedly at him.
"Yes, I suppose you know my darkest desire... more incomprehensible ramblings from a madman," she said, smirking again...

Aldar laughed, smiling crookedly at Jamie. "I thought everyone was mad here. After all they did put me here. Interesting isn't it...I wonder if all the hospitals are full of the sane. Too bad you aren't sane."

Jamie's eyes narrowed. "I was not, in any way, responsible for your appointment," she said coldly. She raised an eyebrow, a hand on her hip as she snorted. "I am more sane than you would ever be with years of therapy," she said. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I have business to conduct," Jamie said, turning away...

Aldar grinned, sweeping a low bow, clearly mocking Jamie, "you may leave your highness."
Aldar watched Jamie turn away clearly pleased with how things had turned out. He found it amussing that she believed him to be insane, but then again all the best people are. He found a secret joy knowning that Jamie had no idea what he was really like, how terrifyingly mad he really could be.
