Aldar was waiting for Jamie to arrive, after all it was one of things that had to be done. Her true nature he had to get to the bottom of. And he was prepared to do whatever it took. He paced around his office, surprsingly cleaner than usual so that he could pace. There was one red chair that was tilted in the corner for the occassional guest, and random artifacts and objects that hung about and were scattered everywhere. He wore his old blue robe and comfortable pants and shirt.
Carrying a day old biscut in his hand he nibbled at the decaying crust as he thought about what exactly to do. He had brought from his home large roles of paper and other supplies which were stuffed in the drawers of his desk which no longer sported the chair that came with it, for he had misplaced it somewhere in his never-ending closet. Plus, chairs were of the bothersome sort.
Glancing at his wall of clocks which none of them told the correct time from anywhere on the earth, he realized that she would most likely be late.

(( www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=63482590 )) "I know she was a Slytherin, but besides that, I don't know much about her early years...no one does, really..." "Well I heard that she had mocked the muggleborns the moment she was on the Hogwarts Express.." "She's sly...ooooh she gives me the gooseflesh.." "I wouldn't cross her if I were you, young man, Merlin's beard, no!" "Did you hear what she did to that wizard she was investigating? Ohhh, it'd make your house-elve's ears curl"Jamie usually ignored the rumors that floated around her departments, and the surrounding departments, and usually, they died off. However, this time there seemed to be someone listening to those rumors, and drawing conclusions from conversations held with her. Silverton had been more and more annoying as of late, until he finally became interfering, and interference was not a thing Jamie tolerated. So, it was time to throw him off of her back until later, when it did not matter. Jamie cared little that she was late, Silverton would probably hardly notice, or brush it off in his usual lackadaisical manner, so Jamie shrugged when the secretary hesitantly told her she was late. She knew that, and there was no reason for the woman to reiterate it. She stared down the young woman as the secretary stood to show her into the office. The woman hurriedly showed her in, then shut the door behind her. Jamie stepped into the room, taking off her gloves, tugging on each finger until they slid off almost elegantly, and then her coat from patrolling. She folded them over her arm, then looked forward to Aldar. "You asked to see me, Minister?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.....

Aldar was sitting on his desk when Jamie entered, ignoring his secretary like always. He found secretaries to be more bothersome than necessary, but he felt bad firing the poor soul. "You may want to sit." Aldar stated not answering Jamie's rather obvious question, gesturing over to the worn chair in the corner.
"The Ministry you know, is supossed to be like a...what do they call it....a well oiled machine. Now of course I don't really view this place as a machine, rather boring idea if you ask me. However....where was....oh, yes....people have been talking about you." Aldar grinned.
"Of course people are always talking about each other. It's rather sickening. But, work performance is lower because of gossiping. Now, I know you aren't spreading any of these things people are saying, but to solve this problem...." Aldar paused gazing off into space, remembering that he wanted to have jam with his biscut.
He leaped off his desk and found the jam in the fake fireplace which was filled temporialy with odds and ends. He took the biscut and knife out of his robe pocket and proceded to lather the biscut with the jam. He pulled out another biscut and stretched it out towards Jamie, "do you want some?"
Before hearing her response, Aldar chucked the jam into the fireplace, where it was immediatly consumed into the wall. "Do you want children? How do you feel about family life?" Aldar asked Jamie, as he sat back down on his desk, his frogotten biscut turned upside down, the jam smearing across the surface. He looked intensly at her waiting for her response.

Jamie's eyebrow continued to raise as she sat in the chair, eyeing the minister warily as she watched him. Then she shrugged. "People always tal-" she said, before she was cut off. She paused, watching him even more warily as he continued to blabber on, then jump off his desk. She looked almost alarmed as she saw he had a knife in his hand to spread the jelly with. "really, it doesn't bother m-" she began, watching him carefully with the knife. She pressed herself into the chair as he turned his attention on Jamie again, offering a biscuit. "No, than-" she managed to get out before the jam was thrown into the fireplace. By now, Jamie looked definitely alarmed.
Jamie sat, blinking for a few moments in the silence that followed his questions, before opening her mouth, staring at the minister. "I-...what?" she asked, her nose wrinkling as she frowned at him, still looking slightly paranoid, and even a little cornered, as one would if locked in a cell with a mad man.
If there was one thing that Jamie knew would throw people off, it was playing dumb.

Aldar cocked his head and had a strange expression on his face when Jamie finally did respond, with really no response at all. He knew Jamie, and this, the silent figure sitting before him was not her. But, he would play along, after all she was in his office, and she had really no idea what was in here. And that got him thinking...
"You know those things that people do, sign sheets and say my blood is your blood, little copies of yourself running around all cute like. Like...those kinds of things...family. Do you want a family? Because I would be happy to help in any way..." Aldar smiled at Jamie appearing that he actually liked her.
Aldar got up and started walking back and forth, waving his hands about as he talked. "You really do work too much, and you are getting old...aging..." Aldar looked at Jamie as if trying to find the words to describe her apperance, "ah...aging. Yes, well, you will have to stop at some time. And unless if you're planning on dying where you are, what do you want to look back on?"
Aldar stopped walking around and stood a couple feet away from Jamie. With a large sweeping gesture he exclaimed, "look to the future! Are you among the stars or in the dirt? Are you soaring or chained to the people you've hurt? Which path are you going to take? What path have you already taken?!" Aldar spoke quickly so that his words ran together, then he abruptly stopped.
"Tea or cup, but why not both? Gives a tea of cup....I'm sorry rather...a...cup of tea. Who are you, really? If I were to remove your outer skin what would we find underneath? What drives you and gives you motivation to be as you appear to the world, a head auror that dislikes people."
Aldar leaned in so that he was uncomfortably close to Jamie, shaking his finger back and forth with each word, "and. no. playing. dumb."

Jamie stared, mouth open as Aldar plodded on about children and family, an eyebrow raised past the layer of hair that had fallen across her forehead. As he hinted and smiled at her, Jamie crossed her legs swiftly, the back of one knee slamming on the top of the other. "What?! No! I am not-...I don't want-..I am never having-... NO," she said, blushing furiously, glaring up at the man pacing in front of her.
Then Jamie snorted, seemingly desperate to change the subject. "I will stay in this position until I feel that my duty is over-" she began, then was cut off again as Aldar waved his hands about. Jamie stared, shrinking farther into the chair.
"One does not have to like people in order to-" she began, before his shook his finger in her face. Jamie nearly went crosseyed as she sought to keep both him and his finger within her sight. "W-what?" she finally asked, her eyes wide as she looked up into his face, which was uncomfortably close to hers, so much that she shifted and tried to push back even further into the seat just to put some space between them.....

Aldar watched Jamie closely and he was careful not to move away from her, noticing that she was uncomfortable. He was never going to touch her, all he wanted was the truth or something from her. A lead, a whiff of the cheese so to speak, but he wouldn't pounce on it. He wanted to disect it and examine it. "What I want you to tell me is...who...you...really...are."
Aldar smiled and waited for her to respond. He was done with theatrics for now. If she was going to keep saying what to everything it would be better to ask one question at a time, and make her be under the examiners spotlight.

Jamie studied Aldar as he crouched above her, her eyes flickering slightly as she stared back at him. "To tell you that would be impossible...I do not even know," Jamie said finally, after a long pause. And it was true. Jamie did not ever bother to search within herself, she did not need to. She continued to stare at him. "Now, you have three seconds to get out of my personal space before I scream sexual harassment and the whole of the ministry comes running to spread even more rumors. This time about... us."

Aldar smiled and stepped backwards, "we wouldn't want that would we. Just think of all the things they could say. Speaking of rumors, why do you think people are talking about you and no one else?"
Aldar stretched as he waited for her to respond. Leaning like that was more bothersome than he thought, partly because he had beaten up his back even more trying to get rid of unecessary restraints. Her response was honest, and truthfully he didn't like looking in the mirror that much either. But, there had to be somethng behind her drive, or was it just pure stubborness?

As Aldar removed himself from in front of her, Jamie slowly sat more forward, staring at him again. "How should I know? Perhaps it is because no one knows anything about me, and the unknow inspired fear," she said, shrugging. "People exaggerate their fears, make them greater than tey could ever be. Do not ask me to understand the way others' minds work," Jamie said, regaining her composure and cool manner.

Aldar smiled, being careful not to show his satisfaction. She had started to talk again. Apparently pressing her to her limits and then being respectful seemed to work for this game, but there was no guarentee it would work in others to come. "Isn't it part of your job to understand others minds? In the matter of these rumors, what do you want me to tell people? Go talk to Jamie, and she tell you to stop worrying? Then they might want your life story, if there even is one."
Aldar wondered what sort of life Jamie had to shape her into the person she was. It must have been a rather horrid one, but then again, he turned out all right.

Jamie snorted, looking disdainful. "Allow me to rephrase that. Do not ask me to understand the way others' minds work beyond what my job requires," she said, gathering her gloves and coat as she stood and turned. She glanced over her shoulder at him for a moment. "Tell them to suck it up and get over their fears," she said, walking out of his office and shutting the door with a particularly nice 'snap'.

Aldar laughed at her remark. He watched Jamie curiously as she picked up her things and left. He was still laughing as she closed the door, and he felt an odd sort of satisfaction. Yes, he had learned a lot from their little meeting. Oh, yes. Now, he just had to catch her in action. He was almost sad at the thought that if he ended up catching her that life wouldn't be as entertaining. He knew deep down that his wish for entertainment and children's games couldn't stand in his way when faced with tearing down the DE. But, then again, another DE would rise from the ashes, and the cycle would continue.
