Aldar rarely went out, in fact the only time he did go out was when he was forced to. But, he decided that it would be interesting to go out and see what people were talking about. So, he naturally went to the place where people talked the most, which of course was bars.
Aldar slipped into a darker corner, feeling that it would be best to keep hidden. His face was pretty well known, and he didn't want people changing their conversations or starting fights because of his presence. Aldar wore darker clothes, and he was nicely dressed for once. He wondered what would happen tonight and if anything would happen at all.

Jamie sat in the crowded bar, going back and forth between swigging and sipping her glass of Dragon's breath in the corner, a newer injury to her leg from earlier that day bothering her. A wooden beam at one of the dueling sites had managed to pin her leg from the ankle halfway to the hip socket while she had been busy deflecting a nastier spell.
Jamie flinched as her leg gave a particularly painful throb, and she poured more of a pain potion she had made, into the strong liquor. Her eyes glanced around as she held the steaming liquid, watching the people behind the vapors. She watched as a darker figure walked into the bar, and rolled her eyes as she recognized the figure. She shifted, pulling herself further into the corner, and adjusting her cloak, trying to discreetly pull the hood further down before he spotted her.......

Aldar ordered a drink at the bar and as he waited he scanned the room. He quickly got his drink and slipped a tablet in it which allowed him to see if there was anything in the drink that would be life threatening. Being immune to most poisions it wouldn't matter much anyway, but it was always a comfort for his paranoia.
Having spotted Jamie he walked over to where she was sitting and without a word slid into the spot next to her. If he was going to observe might as well sit with someone and not attract attention. "Celebrating?" Aldar asked her.

Jamie caught Aldar's movement towards her, and quickly looked away, hoping he would think twice. As he sat down next to her, Jamie was tempted to slam her forehead on the wooden table.
Jamie flinched as she edged away, her leg throbbing and her vision fuzzy for a moment before she took another swig of the hot liquor. "Hardly," she said dryly, not looking at him. She stared down the large glass before speaking again. "When did you decide to crawl out of your office and come visit me in the dark corner of a pub? People will talk, you know..." she commented wryly, an eyebrow raised as she continued to stare at the glass, and the table below it...

Aldar noticed her flinch and he wondered if he should offer something to help ease the pain, but he didn't know how she would take it. He decided it best to answer her question first. "I guess coming here is a matter of an annualy forced-tradition I've put upon myself. But upon seeing you, I decided not to spend it alone, that is if you don't mind."
Aldar paused and then decided it best not to bring up the pain pills he had until he saw where this was going to go. Pills and drugs were a touchy subject between them, seeing how he had recently drugged her. And, it wouldn't be wise to bring it up, when he didn't know how they stood.

Jamie continued to stare at the wooden table. "Tradition, eh? I thought you weren't one for living up to expectations and meeting standards," she said waspishly, sarcasm dropping off her words as she said them. "You wouldn't go away even if I told you to, would you?" She asked, the eyebrow raised again as she rubbed her thumbnail on the underside of her index finger, the nail bumpin ever so slightly over the grooved of her fingerprint and distracting Jamie from her leg as she thought about the feeling and her situation before taking another drink from the glass.
Finally Jamie blinked, then turned towards Aldar, a smirk on her face, which was blushing from the drink already. She eyed his glass, recognizing it's contents. "Weak choice," she commented, before turning her gaze back to her drink ad the table....

Aldar smiled, "I honor those traditions I make for myself." He didn't mention that it was in a way celebrating his birthday, not remembering what day it actually was, seeing how he was found on the side of the road.
"And no, I most likely wouldn't leave. I perfer not to drink alone." Aldar noticed her habit of running her fingernail over her finger, and wondered what she was thinking about. After studying her for so long, he found that it was easier to pick up on her habits, though that study had been conducted with in mind that they were enemies. He found it in a way interesting that they weren't fighting.
Aldar took out his tiny tin of pain pills and placed them on the table, "if you need a pain killer and healing medicine, I have some. I couldn't help noticing that you seem to be in pain. Though I do understand that past experiences will warrant that you don't trust me in such matters. Which I find to be completly understandable. Only one is necessary." Aldar looked at Jamie to see what her reaction would be, he didn't know if he overstepped any sort of boundary.
Aldar laughed, "yes, it is a weak drink. I must admit that I don't usually drink. If you wish to remedy my choice, then I would be happy to order one you think more suitable."

Jamie raised an eyebrow. "Of course, hypocrite," she commented icily, running her finger around the base if her glass. Then she snorted. "Then why come alone? Do you count ok someone you know being here?" She asked, wondering if he was having her followed. If so, it had been a very good tail, she hasn't seen or heard anything that might have given her that suspicion before now. Jamie was jerked back by Aldar's voice again.
She watched warily as he set the tin down, her face skeptic and yet incredulous at the same time. "One, I am never taking anything you've been near again. Two, I already have a painkiller in this," Jamie held her glass up. "It just takes some time to take effect and isn't the strongest painkiller because I am still trying to feel out whether or not I have torn something," she said stiffly, pushing the tin back to the minister, her face stuff as she went back to staring at the glass.
"I suggest you try Firewhiskey," she commented, shrugging slightly. It would be entertaining to see whether or not Aldar was a lightweight. That is, if she didn't get drunk herself, which was quite possible, she thought as she continued to drink heartily from her glass.

Aldar smiled, "no, I still come. I feel that...being in presence of others makes me not physically alone...I rarely see people I know when I go out...this is my first time to this particular bar. When I saw you...I thought it would be nice....for a change....to actually talk to someone when I'm out." Aldar looked down at his drink.
When she pushed the tin away he moved to take it and slipped it back into his pocket. "Ah, that's understandable. It is wise to place an injury before treating it fully. Though, there are also times when we have to take the benefit of the doubt and go ahead, especially when on the brink of death." Aldar stated a far away look in his eyes.
Shaking his head he grinned, as if shaking away the past. Aldar ordered a Firewhiskey, and shortly he had the glass in hand. "I would like to officialy state before I consume this that this is a purely non-business or any other ties type of night. As I'm sure someone has said before, let us go to the core of ourselves and leave everything else behind." Aldar smiled at Jamie and took a drink of the Firewhiskey.
He had a faint idea of what would happen when he drank, but he didn't know for sure. He rarely did so, and thus when he did drink he was affected relativly soon.

Jamie ogled Aldar, watching him as though an owl were perched up on his head. "You need a girl," she said, shaking her head. She watched as he ordered the Firewhiskey, a smirk playing openly on her lips. As he receive it, Jamie herself ordered another Dragon's Breath, hers almost finished. She took the last deep drink as he announced the casualness of the evening. She spluttered for a moment, the drink burning her throat more than the usual. For a moment, her eyes watered, and she turned to stare at Aldar. "First, I really would prefer it be a formal meeting, and second, what the bloody hell are you playing a by announcing that on public?" Jamie hissed, blushing from the drink, her voice slightly wobbly, and her eyes still watering as her throat continued to sting. She glanced around, making sure no one was paying attention. She glared slightly at Aldar as her drink arrived, before she turned her gaze away to add more of the potion...

Aldar nearly choked on his drink, but he quickly regained his composure before speaking, "And who do you think would be willing to...associate themselves with...how do you put it...a mad-man? I....I don't know how well....I guess....I've never thought about it." Aldar frowned slightly he didn't even know what love was like, he remember vaguely someone taking care of him...but that was stained with blood as well.
Aldar laughed as she continued on, "I'm terribly sorry, I was speaking in terms of that this wasn't a conference meeting." Aldar raised an eyebrow, "you are rather concerned with what the public thinks don't you? But, it doesn't really matter I guess, seeing how I rather don't care what others think." Aldar grinned.
He took a swig of his drink, "you see, you get to a certain point where you realize you can't please everyone. Besides, everyone sees the world from a different perspective, and one person could be looking at this situation one way, and another person in a completly different way, yet the foundation of the situation hasn't changed, but it has. It's like having the world be a broken kaleidoscope, each fragmented piece is part of someone's perspective, yet they think they see the whole. It's only when you account for all the other pieces, points of view, put the kaleidoscope together, that everything becomes clear, and you see the picture." Aldar stated as he gestured with his hands, as if the kaleidoscope was right before him.

Jamie shrugged. "You please the public and they stay out of you way and business," she said coolly, drinking deeply for a moment before she looked at Aldar. "You really do need a girl, a bird, a companion, anything," she said, raising an eyebrow at him as he waved his hands around. She took another drink, then actually began to laugh quietly to herself. Who was she to say that? With her plans, one would have said that she needed a man to occupy her. Jamie chuckled again, before laughing out loud. She caught sight of Aldar again, and had to stifle more chuckles, an action achieved by another drink of her hot liquor. Her leg throbbed less painfully as she did so, and Jamie caught herself feeling disturbingly warm and cozy. Soon she would née to leav to sleep off both the pain in her leg and the drunken state she was getting herself into. Jamie slipped her potion into her pocket, it's purpose fulfilled.

Aldar looked at Jamie with wonder, as he took another sip of his drink, as it burned down his throat. Aldar proceded to laugh, "next time you see me, I will be walking around with one of those....what do you call it...parakeets attatched to a leash, telling it....now Lucy, what do you think of those papers on my desk today? They were rather delicious weren't they, though next time I would be rather grateful if you wouldn't let yourself loose all over them. I don't know what the board would think having their hands covered in bird dung. Just think of your reputation Lucy! Now...there's no need to get all ruffled up..."
Continuing to laugh, Aldar took another sip, warmth beginning to creep into his bones. "I think the most difficulty in the whole matter is finding someone who can in a manner keep me in my place while also be some sort of a challenge. I always need to be doing something you see, and most of the time people just want to settle down with their picket fences all in a row, popping out babies. No, I need adventure in my life, a challenge, but something I treasure and love as well. After all people aren't mountains we can climb."
Aldar looked at Jamie, his eyebrow raised, his expression serious. "What on earth are you laughing at?"

Jamie stared at Aldar, very much like she had while pinned by him in his office. "I meant a sweetheart," she said simply, an eyebrow raised. Then she chuckled, then coughed, her throat still tingling from her drink. "I was just thinking," Jamie hesitated, then plowed on, her judgement and pride significantly muddled by the alcohol,"that I don't really have much room to talk," she said, laughing again before taking another drink o the deliciously warm and steaming drink in front of her. The throbbing in her leg slowly relaxed to a thumping, then just a heavy pulse, the leg tingling and achy, but definitely improved. The room had shortened itself to a fuzzy, blurry wooden room when she looked anywhere farther away than the table ahead of them. Jamie glanced at her drink, her third. It was only a third of the way gone. Jamie chuckled again, wondering how she was even going to be able to apparated home....

Aldar laughed and ran his fingers through his hair, taking another drink. He was deffiently starting to feel warm, and everything was covered in a warm light. "Well, that makes two of us then."
Aldar paused and laughed, "well, I'm sure you won't have any trouble finding anyone." He looked at Jamie, a blush creeping into his cheeks. "That is to say...with your being the head auror...among other things...is very attractive...to a lot of people..."
