Balder nodded "Right."
She headed into the storage room and grabbed all the ingredients she needed and came back out holding another bottle which the contents were labeled 'Sloth Brains'. "Professor,I dont think these brains are any good, quite a few of them in here have signs that they had suffered from encephalitis...brain swelling...the brains either swelled up or the fluid surrounding the brain built up and put pressure on the brain, both of them leave the tissue damaged. But I don't know, maybe they'd be alright, what do you think?" Balder asked, handing him the jar of sloth brains.

Snape heard Balders words he moved to take a look a the brains, before he spoke "It would be best to just use some new ones, in suc a potion it is unwise to test if it would be alright, since in this potion it could end very badly, besides there is another jar of the brains behind the jar to the right of this one. We if nothing else can see if the students can say what is wrong with these keeping it where we know that, in doing so one does not have to think on what could happen"
He of course moved to get his own items, though it would take him still lease time then her, not mearly becouse he had more skill, but becouse of the diffrence of potions & he though it wise to test Balder here now alone, so if somthing went wrong it was only them.

Balder nodded and began setting up, having already grabbed the other jar. As she began to prepare the ingredients, she opened the jar of 'boomslang skin', only to reveal it was a whole boomslang snake. "Your supplier is getting lazy." Balder commented as she pulled it out and made quick work of skinning the snake and quickly gutting and removing the fangs and venom sacs "Well, no use letting anything go to waste." She said, "Ever try snake?" Balder asked as she tossed the innards of the snake away and washed her hands and starting the potion.

Snape set the jar away to be used later of brains, before moving to an area to start on his potion as he heard Balders words, he smirked "Perhaps, but then it is a test is it not? And I did once, though it has its own test it is closer to chicken if one has never had it when comparing it to others things they have had, but I suppose different snakes could have different tastes, just not something I can say is something I would eat all the time" He looked over at Balder as he allowed the cauldron to heat up & the starting ingredients to go in "So was that just a ask question or have you had it & just wish to see how many other poor saps have as well?"

Balder smirked back "Just curious as to how much backwoods experience a proper English gent has had." she joked, letting the first ingredient stew "And they don't call me Balder the Boulder for no reason."
While it was stewing she pulled out some wood skewers from her pocket and cut up the snake into a few pieces and skewering them, letting them cook over a different fire.
"So what kind of moonstone do you find is more effective, the one higher in sodium or the one higher in potassium?" Balder decided to ask, "From what I've messed around with the moonstone higher in sodium makes even more potent potions...then again I really only did my experiments with small numbers, it's a little hard to do more than 10 potions by yourself at the same time."

Snape heard her words "I am not a proper english gent & there are many that would stand by that. As for backwoods, experience I suppose everyone does to some degree some of course more then others, but not going to say I am will in the field" He looked at her after adding other ingredients "And I would think such a name would come from you being in the army other then going out killing snakes for food"
"As for moonstones, it comes down to what effect you want form the potion, as you said the higher potassium can make a more potent potion, depending on what other ingredients you are using as for ones with high sodium it most the time gives potions a potent taste almost like salt though it helps for like restoring one that say has over worked out or one that has been running away form something for some time or even those that just get lost for some time, though ether way it is best to take it in small doses since most the time when used, it never is good to take to much at one point"

She looked thoughtful and nodded "Makes a lot of sense." Balder said before adding the next few ingredients and adjusted the heat to the right temperature. "Well, now I've got 3 hours to kill until I have to stir it." she said, turning off the other fire that was cooking the bits of snake. She took a skewer of it and started to eat it.
"I've got a friend in Japan that works at the Tsukiji fish market in Japan, works with eels. He said he'd give you the eyes for a discounted price, I said you were a friend. He's in training to be a sushi chef."

Snape continued to work on his potion, almost done after years of experience, though he could not say it was a bad thing at the moment since Balder was in the mood to talk. Snape heard Balders words "I will be sure to keep him in mind, when I need such an item though it is not often, but it is still used at times form potion to potion & I hope you brought something to do why you wait for the time to run out before you work more on your potion" Of course like her he was adding the last ingredient & steering it, since after that he had only to allow it to boil for so long before he could let it cool & put it away.

"Of course I did." She said, pulling a thick paperback book out from her pocket, opening up to where the bookmark was at as she began to read. After a few minutes of silent reading, her eyes wouldn't stop wandering up at the potion's master; it happened repeatedly after every couple of paragraphs. Balder hoped he wasn't noticing her occasional looking at him.

Snape sinced eyes on him & figuered it was Balder, at first he said nothing, though as it went on he looked at her as he worked to put the potion away "I thought you where going to read you book & no be looking at me the hold time" Of course he did not know if she would or would not, it just was he was not sure what to make of it.

Balder blushed, embarrassed from being caught in the act, quickly hiding behind her book; something she did frequently in his classes. 'Dammit Balder, you said you were gonna keep your stupid hormones in check. Pull yourself together stupid! Or else he'll think you're just here to be with him!'
'You are here for him you idiot, just not in the way your hormones want to be. He's the only potions professor in the area that was taking on interns and he's the top potions master in the UK.'
'And also the hottest...' Balder pushed her face into her book even more in a weak attempt to keep her brain from arguing with itself.

Snape did not know her inner thoughts, perhaps the best since at the time he would likly not know what to make of it like the idea of being used or somthing close to it, he finsihed his task before turning to put the potion away & then taking a seat a his desk to work on some things he needed to.

After a few minutes the argument subsided and she was able to resume reading her book. A few more minutes passed before she pulled out a few sheets of paper before writing multiple complex mathmatical formulas out and began working on those, looking between the book and her work frequently. When she was done she folded the piece of paper and stuck it in the book between the pages she was on.

Snape easly finshed what he had before he spoke "So what are you reading?" He was not one that was much for talking, but if they had to be working together then perhaps it was best he talk some at least for starters, he could see how it would go form there.

"The flight manual for a Lockheed U-2S reconnaissance plane. Ever since I was a kid I wanted to fly the same plane as my father did, the Lockheed SR-71, but they stopped operating them three years ago. I did get to fly them for a while, but since they cost so much to maintain they stopped using them, and when the announcement was made that the program was going to be scrapped I transferred here, joining the 351st Air Refueling Squadron at RAF Mildenhall. Before I got here I was asked if I would like to go back to working at Beale Air Force Base again under the 99th Reconnaissance squadron, the same place I first worked and where my dad worked. I said I'd consider it, and they handed me this manual and told me to read up....it's a lot different than what I'm used to flying, but I bet I could get the hang of it."
