Layla nodded, "I see. I just heard that there were a lot of students roaming about here, I probably just expected them to be everywhere, not just Hogwarts grounds." Layla laughed softly to herself.
"I can see the girls trying to walk through the snow, they always made such a fuss. I'm glad I decided to come here instead." Layla smiled.

With her words he nodded "It likly has to do with the weather, most do not like the snow & cold or having to deal with it. I would think that the deciding was more a need?" Snape sinced somthing, he could not place it but, he knew well enogh to trust his jut he did not know what it was or who but, he was not going to take any chances even more so with Layla for she would or was likly to be in danger it this was in deed some form of threat.
With that in mind Snape remained aleart, as he reached for his wand making sure not to be noted as he rested his hand with wand at his side. He listened to what was going on around him & watched for the danger that was some where closer then he liked.

Layla nodded, "yes. I have a twin sister, Malene and we reached the age where one of us was to be given my mother's ring which has been passed down for generations. Malene was born first so she thought the ring would go to her, but instead my parents requested, before their deaths, that the ring would be passed down to me. In short Malene got angry and killed my best friend in front of me. She threatened me as well, so this summer I decided I wasn't going back to school with her. I transfered to Hogwarts and here I am."
Layla paused before going on, unsure if she was boring Professor Snape with her history. "So, I guess it was more out of necessity than anything. Though, I like Hogwarts better, there is more of a variety of people around." Layla stated basically saying that there wasn't a constant stream of veelas prancing around. Many of the girls were proud of who they were, and Layla was proud but she didn't like to flaunt her bloodline.
Layla noticed Professor Snape move as if he was more alert. Layla carried on walking, knowing that it was his job after all, and probably part of his instincts now to always be on the look out. Layla wondered though if the times were really that bad again. Somehow, it didn't surprise her.

Snape did not miss her words how could he, it was hard for anyone to lose one close to them & it was even harder when it was infrount of you, where you could do nothig even, if you though you might have been able to.
"I am sorry to hear that, it is ever easy to lose any that we see as a friend or family perhaps with time your sisiter will come around but, I cannot say that she would be forgiven or that she would not have to aswer for the crime"
When Snape heard somthing he moved into more a place to keep Layla, out of harms way "Listen closly to me, stay closly behind me unless I say other wise" When he saw the movment he moved to stand more infrount of Layla, as he saw the figuer apper it was a man though it was clear from what Snape could see in there eyes it was not good, he could almost since the mans ill intent. "Stop where you are if you wish to live"
Snape was ready to fight his fingers itched for it, he had years of this kind of life so he was use to it one thing that truly made him awaken like some anchent beast or dragon the had awoken from a great sleep.
But, then he would have to be on his tooes with this man, for he could not be sure that talk would be able to get them out of here.
The man, smirked as he came to a stop he was about a half foot shorter then Snape but, he did not pay much mind to Snape for the momet he looked at Layla, as his smirk grew "Come now sir, surly we can many a deal, that we both are happy about"
The man wait for Snapes words, he was not sure what Snape was able to do but, he knew that to take Snape would insure that the Lalyla had no one to turn to, a pitty his mind played on how such an idea for a bit of fun was threw off when Snape with Layla, for if if was Layla then he would of had more a chance & he knew it for it was clear the girl was still learning.

Layla nodded to his first words, though in a way she had already forgiven her sister, but at the same time she still felt resentment towards her.
When Snape told her to listen to him, she immediatly went on alert mode, but kept calm. She moved behind him, not even daring to peep out from behind his cloaks to see who the threat was. Apparently it did look so good, but Layla had the feeling that the man oppossing Snape would get the worser end of the stick. Layla paid close attention, making sure she knew where her wand was. Layla looked down at her package and quickly slipped it into her expanadable bag, both her hands were now free if it came to that she needed to do something.

Snape did not miss the mans words though he was not going to take them, for to him there would be not common ground between them in this matter. "No sir, there is not & nothing you say will chance it" He was glade that Layla had done as he asked, Snape could hold his own against many at one time though it was not forever he could do it but, he did well enough the other fact was with Layla behind him, the only way a spell would hit her would be if it went threw him or there was an attack form behind but, Snape did not see that happening.
The man did not miss Snape's words his eyes narrowed as he looked at Snape as he spoke "A pity" And with giving no warning, cast a stunning spell at Snape hopping to take him by surprise & in doing so get to Layla.
Snape had been ready for something to happen when the man cast the spell, that he was quick to defected it before casting his own spell & with it a fight did break out though it did not last long between them as spells where cast & dealt with,
Snape moved to cast a spell that with any lucky would distracted the man enough to get the chance of taking the mans wand, for to do so would only mean that the man would have no choose but, to leave,
The man was taken surprise when, the vine like ropes moved to grab him, as he moved to counter it, he felt his wand leave his hand only to land in Snapes. He knew that he had no choose, with out a wand he was forced to leave but, not before he spoke "This is not over" And with that he turned & left.
Once the man left Snape was still watchful but, he spoke to Layla "Are you alright Miss. Alderov"
(I know it is a bit short but, want to get to the point & that way when Jamie gets on we are not trying to keep up with to many posts)

(OC: that's fine!)
Layla had been careful not to get in the way while also following Snape's instructions. As to his words she merely smiled, "yeah, I'm perfectly fine. It's you I would be asking about, you did all the fighting."
Layla paused before continuing. "Thank you Professir Snape for protecting me."

He was ready to leave & just wanted to insure that Layla was as well "Were you so eger to fight or was it more if you had to?"

Layla continuned walking, she wasn't in the slightest bit shaken. As to Professor Snape's question she looked up at him when she answered. "It would have been unwise for me to fight in this situation seeing how I would become more of a hinderance. As for fighting in general I do not fight unless it becomes necessary. To waste ones breath on foolish quarrels is time consuming and I have better things to do. Though I have fought before, I know what it is like to cause harm onto another. I don't believe fighting is always the answer, and I grew up away from the last war, but I know my parents wished to help. I hold true to that promise that if help is needed I will fight, the veelas are not to be over looked this time." Layla had a look of determination, it was her duty and her wish to help when it was needed, to fight against those who kill for no reason.

Snape listened to her words, though he could see her reasons for many where the same way few, liked to fight & those that did where not the best. "It would be nice if the fight did not have to be but, it is likly to always be. Perhaps with time we can learn, to not fight for usless reasons but, there is no saying that it will happin"

"Yes, I know." Layla knew that as long as the world existed there would be fighting, there would always be bloodshed. She knew that her skills lied in fighting. She knew that her path would lead her down to even more bloodshed, hadn't her life started with bloodstained hands. Layla knew that it would be best to keep this gnawing piece of information away from Professor Snape. She didn't want to fight, but she knew she would be called to, that it was intiment. It was best for him to think of her as passive as someone not well known in the ways of dueling, that way she could lie low.

Snape did not miss her word he did not press for more, why should he it did not matter. "What are your plains for the holiday?" He knew most students would go home, to be with there family but, there were still those that stayed behind & had there holidays at Hogwarts. And he was not sure if Layla would be one to stay or go form what he learned but, he knew that her to stay there would be other students around as for to go he hopped that she would have others around.

"I will most likely be staying. Or I can't decide if I want to go out and explore the surrounding area more. I don't have many friends here at the moment and there is nothing for me back home, so it kind of gives me free reign to do pratically anything I want. Are you staying here for the Holiday?" Layla said to Snape.

Snape heard her words, with her question he spoke "I am not fully sure yet, it will depend on what is going on at the time, the odds are I will be at Hogwarts for the holidays" He could spend it with Alexis he was sure but, being a professor ment he would have to see if he got the time off or if he would be needed.

"That must stink not being able to go home for the Holidays, that you're required to stay. At least I have the choice." Layla stated, wondering if Professor Snape had anything to return to at home.
