Walking with her hands in the pockets of her long midnight blue robe and her hood up concealing who she was, Caleigh scanned her surroundings. This walk was familiar to her, and being of the shadows she no longer felt the fear that she'd once felt. Smiling to herself, Cally rounded the bend before walking up the steps to Kieler Manor.
Knocking on the door Cally waited patiently for about as long as she could. But having never been a patient person, that wasn't long before the petite vampire was pushing open the door and walking into Deran's manor.
"Deran!" Cally called out into the darkness. Pulling her hood down, Cally ran a small hand through her dark locks before folding her arms under her chest and waiting.

Deran had been in the library writing his families history down, wondering if he should change the inside and grounds of the Manor. It had been over six hundred years, and even though spells kept it from falling apart the inside always reminded him of what once was. He immediately sensed someone entering the property but immediately relaxed recognizing it was Cally.
Deran was wearing a lose black shirt and old fashioned high waisted pants. He quickly put the book away and went outside, deciding to approach Cally from the back, even though she would sense him. He drew his dark emerald robes around him, detailed in rich embroidery, his fathers causal wear for family gatherings.
He saw Cally and his heart momentarily stopped. He walked silently up behind her a smile on his face. "Fancy seeing you here, Cally. Last time I remember you distinctly being afraid of the dark surroundings." Deran leaned against the doorframe.

Cally bit her bottom lip and felt a shiver go up her spine as she sensed Deran sneaking up behind her. She doubted she'd ever be as good as him at hiding her presence from the world, but she was getting better at feeling others when they were around. Tapping her foot impatiently for dramatic effect, Cally sighed a long drawn out sigh.
"I was in the neighborhood, and I figured I'd stop by and say hi." shrugging her thin shoulders, Cally turned her arms still crossed as she looked Deran over. He was amazingly handsome as ever, and Cally stood there drinking him in. "What can I say? I've started to adapt. I figure you can't really be afraid of something that is such a big part of who you are."
Moving closer, Cally stood inches from Deran but didn't move to touch him. "Now is that really how you're going to say hello to me?" Cally asked batting her eyelashes up at Deran. "Or do I have to do something to make you remember how you're supposed to properly greet me.?" Caleigh grinned wickedly and playfully.

Deran laughed, she was always being dramatic but that was what drew him in, in the first place. Her hair, her eyes, her smile, her smell, her laugh and even tears, everything. It was still hard for him to believe that they had forever now, or at least longer than the normal lifespan.
Deran stepped back and walked around in the front entrance as if admiring the architecture for the first time. "I'm glad the old place has grown on you. You wouldn't want to hurt it's feelings. Though, you being scared of the manor in the first place probably hurt it more than anything." Deran teased.
Deran gracefuly moved to draw Cally closer to him, his smile deepening so that his eyes lit up. "You always were trouble, but that's what I love about you."
Deran moved to kiss Cally on the nose as if teasing her. But then he moved to kiss her on the lips.

"I know you're not laughing at me Mr Kieler," Caleigh said with an arched eyebrow. "It's not very nice to laugh at people." She smiled. It had taken Cally a while to adjust to the whole Vampire thing, she hadn't really been brought into the world of the night with wine and roses. More like she was born into it on a bed of pain and torment. But With Deran's help, Cally had eventually found her way.
With blue eyes sparkling as Deran teased her, Cally placed her hands on her hips challengingly as he stepped back. "it's hardly my fault that I was afraid of the manor," Cally said flipping her long tresses over her shoulder. "You need to redecorate, a little bit of pink would go a long way to chasing the spooky out of this place." Caleigh smiled, her eyes sparkling.
Cally loved before close to Deran, he's smell, the way her body fit into his, how he help her. She sighed quietly a little sigh of contentment not really noticing that she did. "It's not my fault I'm trouble," Cally said into Deran's chest as she rested her head there momentarily. "Trouble just follows me around." She smiled biting her bottom lip as she looked up at him.
Cally pouted as Deran went to kiss her nose, "That's not what I meant-" She was silenced when his lips touched her. Kissing Deran back, Cally smiled. "That's better," she said after a moment. "Did you miss me?" She asked. Really she hadn't been gone that long, a month while she had been trying to settle the past with her father as her step mother had passed last year.

Deran laughed at her when she started to pout. She had so much energy and he knew that if he had meet her being born instead as a human he wouldn't have been able to keep up with her. But life had other plans and he knew life only as a pure blood vampire, which made it even more painful for him knowing the pain Cally went through to change into a vampire. He was glad the transformation was over, they had more time for themselves now.
Deran looked up around the Manor trying to imagine it in pink. "Pink decorations...I'll have to think about it. Of course if you're going to live here you can decorate as you please. Though with all the splendor I would feel bad for not giving the Manor to host again. Just say the word and we can figure things out. Servants too if you want, but I'm digressing." Deran smiled. There was a lot that went into the upkeep of a Manor, especially if one wanted to host parties and receptions.
Deran laughed when she asked if he had missed her. "Of course I did. Everyday away from you feels like I've lived another 1000 years alone."
Deran paused as if remembering his manners. "Would you like to sit down somewhere? Are you hungry at all?"
Deran snapped his finger and the Manor was illuminated with candlelight, seeing how there was no electricity. "How was your visit home?" Deran wondered how things had gone, knowing Cally's relationship with her family, and the fact that she would no longer age or regularly consume human food.

"Yes, pink," Cally said with a small laugh. "Or purple I could deal with that too." Cally looked around, "I've never had servants, I don't think I could order anyone around.. I'm not really that bossy.. But maybe someone to clean.. If I move in, I don't really fall into the category as a house wife that cooks, cleans.." Cally laughed. "What is it the American's say? Barefoot and Pregnant? Yeah that's so not me." Cally smiled, but a small part of her hurt with the thought she'd never have kids now, but she made sure not to let that show on the outside.
"1000 years eh?" Cally thought aloud. "That would mean that you aged 30 000 years while I was gone." She laughed. "I know you're old Deran, but really don't age yourself more than you already are," Cally teased smiling up at him.
"I'm alright right now, but let's go sit," Cally said as the soft glow of candlelight floated through the manor. "My visit was okay I guess. I shouldn't have expected it to be any different. My father still sides with my step mother..may she rot.. but oh well. He wouldn't see reason and he doesn't want to know who I am anymore nor does he ever want to recognize me as his daughter again" Cally shrugged as she sat on the couch pulling her knees up underneath her. "I didn't tell him about the whole vampire thing, if he doesn't want me around, he won't care if I never age again".
"What did you do with yourself while I was gone?" Cally asked looking up at Deran.

Deran followed Cally and sat down as well. "My mother would have liked you. She never went near anything that foretold household chores. And the servants really aren't servants. An old family friend, the one I get food packages from, keeps telling me that he would be honored to butler again. He's been wanting to bring the family down, but I felt it just being me would rather bore them all." Deran smiled. "Our number one rule growing up was no eating human life, which of course meant the servants too, and never be ungracious to anyone regardless of their position. We rather spoiled them all."
Deran laughed, "good thing someone is keeping count."
He listened carefully as Cally continued to speak. It was sad that her relationship with her dad and now deceased step-mom wasn't in existence. But, he was sure she had tried to make a connection. "I guess I just can't imagine anyone not loving you. But I slightly biased in that aspect."
When Cally asked what he had been up to, he rolled up his sleeves and showed her the ink stains. The ink stains themselves had a shimmery quality to them. The ink itself was expensive and had to be hand made, and it was to last for eternity on the parchment it was made to work with. "I was writing down the family history. Got to keep it up to date, especially for the future generations, that is if one wants them. But I selfishly wanted to write all about you. The drawings don't do you justice though." Deran smiled at Cally. She was glowing in the candlelight.

"You keep telling me your mother would have liked me," Cally said her smile spreading across her features as Deran spoke of his old family friend. "Well bring him over some time, I'd love to meet him and his family." Cally couldn't help but think maybe there would be little ones as well.
"Well I figured since you're aging some things might be slipping your mind, it's called Alzheimer," Cally joked smiling innocently hoping she wouldn't get herself into too much trouble.
"Slightly biased?" Cally said laughing. "That might be putting it a little bit lightly. But that's okay, I love that you love me."
When Deran rolled up his sleeve, Cally took his arm in her hands and looked it over. "That's so cool," she said tracing the ink marks winter her fingers. "It's looks amazing Deran," Cally said smling up at him. Blinking at his next words Cally frowned. "What do you mean future generations?" she asked confused.

Deran smiled making note that he would have to let the family know.
"As long as your fine feeding me in my old age. Don't want the clothes stained with blood. Don't know what the neighbors would think."
Deran laughed as he pictured Cally and him as an elderly couple. "Health and never aging. What an adorable old couple we would make. My earliest grandfather had his wife and him picture painted as if they did look human at ninety. I'm sure it's around here somewhere."
"Of course future generations. How do you think my late sister and I got here?" Deran chuckled. "I don't think a stork would like carrying hungry baby vampires. No, in an effort to ensure our standing and continuation of the Kieler name, we had the brilliant idea of reproducing. To deny a family the joy of children is cruel. Plus, nature needed a way to balance the powers, and because of the vampire hunters and other ways we can die, nature gave the pure bloods the ability to reproduce." Deran watched Cally's reaction as he was speaking.
"Does that make sense?"

"I'll make sure to take care of you in your old age, no worries love," Cally said smiling. "I won't have the neighbors thinking anything bad about you."
"Nope, no way," Cally said with a smile, "I can't do the whole grey hair thing.. it just wouldn't suit me... But I would love to see the picture of your grandfather and his wife."
Cally bit her bottom lip listening to what Deran had to say. Vampires could reproduce and have babies? No way. Caleigh couldn't help the sudden hope the bloomed inside, but nearly as soon as it started, it was gone. "Pureblood vampires Deran." Caleigh sighed and looked away. "I'm not a pure blooded vampire."

Deran smiled, "You will always be beautiful, and even if you were still human, you would be the most breathtaking woman, even in old age."
Deran paused thinking about if he could remember where the picture was. "I would love to see the picture again too, I just have to find it. To be honest I haven't really kept an exact record of where everything is located." Deran realized that he hadn't gone through the house from top to bottom since the day his Uncle killed his family. Until meeting Cally it would have been too hard to come face to face with those memories.
Deran gingerly took Cally's face in his hands and moved so he was looking into her eyes. He didn't want a single tear to fall, for there was no need for one to fall. "Love, I'm sorry. I should have clarified. Only one needs to be a pureblood. Don't worry, if you want children, we can have children."

"You only say that because you have to," Cally said blushing and turning away. "Old age would not be pretty on me." Cally really couldn't picture herself older, she'd never known her grandparents, and her mother had died so young, that Cally really didn't have many memories of her, plus everything from her childhood was a bit blurry.
"Well we have a lot of time to go through the house, there is no rush."
Cally bit her bottom lip, she was afraid to believe what Deran was saying. "How can that be true?" Cally asked pulling herself away from Deran's hold and standing and walking over to one of the windows and staring out at the world outside. "It can't be true, I'm not the same as I was before."

Deran knew that if he tried telling Cally that he wasn't saying it because he had to, that it wouldn't get anywhere. He still thought her beautiful and he also knew that old age would do nothing to dim that beauty for him. After all it would mean that many years had passed, so his love for her would only grow more.
He nodded to her remark about not needing to rush with the house. He agreeded, after all they did have a very long time. There was no need to rush anything.
Deran watched Cally get up and look out the window. "You may not be human anymore, but don't think for one second you can't have children."
Deran got up and walked over to where Cally was, putting his arms around her, whispering into her ear from behind. "You're still the same Cally I fell in love with, and everyday from now on I'll keep falling in love with you."

Cally stared out the window her mind spinning. For all she knew about vampires, or at least the type she was, having not been born a vampire. She was dead, or as close to it. Cally wasn't even sure if her heart beat anymore, but it could defiantly break, as it was doing right now. The topic of babies was just too much.
"Deran," Cally said softly looking down as she felt his arms come around her. "Mentally I'm the same person yes, But not physically. The day I was turned. He killed me, the vampire who did it.. I was dead, if it hadn't been for Rigoletto, I wouldn't have been save." Cally closed her eyes. "I don't see how what you're saying, that something living could come from something dead."
